RENT 4/28

No day but today

The blend of characters from RENT produces an effortless feeling of unity. The love, loss, and fear the characters face is stripped down to the rawest sense of emotion and enforced by highs and lows of epic proportions. Once rehearsals began the members of the Medaille Music and Drama Club were starting to understand their characters and the message of RENT.

vagina monologues

Vagina Monologues

A play that opens your eyes to the experience of women

Well, there is one thing to be said: vagina. My experience at ‘The Vagina Monologues’ was nothing short of entertaining. From the moment you walk in the door, it’s already a relief knowing that you’re entering an atmosphere filled with angry, happy, depressed, and mental unstable women that know exactly what you’re going, or have already gone through! If you’re having guy trouble, feel under appreciated, are going through situations you just don’t know how to deal with, have self-esteem issues, are curious about just what exactly is the big deal with your “cellar”, or just want a good laugh or two, it’s a must see show for you.

Maroon 5 concert

Concert Virgin

First time concert-goer gets swept away by Maroon 5

What would it be like? Loud? Crowded? Boring? These thoughts were going through my head as I walked to my first concert ever. This concert would be something even more special though, because Maroon 5 is one of my favorite bands. I waited in a long line, a line that I thought was two basketball courts long.

New Moon Edward

Saga has become timeless classic

Nothing has received more hype lately than Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series. The first book in the popular series was published in 2005, but the series didn’t take off until recently, seeing a huge increase in popularity in the past year.

New Moon poster

New Moon goes beyond love story

With sparkling vampires, animated werewolves, and a hopelessly torn human, the film version of Stephenie Meyer’s New Moon did not disappoint Twilight fans. The creators of the film did an excellent job of following the storyline of the book. From the start of Bella’s intriguing dream to the end where Bella and Alice are zipping around in a yellow Porsche, it was about as close as you could ask for.

Bikes, babes, and guns: the perfect ingredients for success. Sons of Anarchy, now in its second full season, is a must watch on a dull Tuesday night. On the cable network FX (Channel 39 in the dorms), the show pushes the limits of what’s acceptable on cable TV, and there are no complaints here.

zombieland

Zombieland delivers unexpected laughs

I have to say when I first saw the previews for Zombieland, I was unimpressed and uninterested. I figured they were already showing its audience the somewhat funny parts. The rest would just be plain cheesy and lose my respect by trying too hard to make me laugh.
