What would it be like? Loud? Crowded? Boring? These thoughts were going through my head as I walked to my first concert ever.
This concert would be something even more special though, because Maroon 5 is one of my favorite bands.
I waited in a long line, a line that I thought was two basketball courts long. This line felt like it would never move, and I would never get in and see the concert. Plus, as I waited, the weather was 45 degrees and it could have been even colder because the sun had set on the day. Being the genius that I am, I wore cargo shorts with a sweatshirt.
Finally, after waiting in line for 30 minutes, we started to move slowly toward the door. As they checked my ticket, I just stood there, in front of the door, soaking in everything around me.
My friends all asked me why I wasn’t freaking out to be minutes away from seeing the band. I just replied that I couldn’t believe that I was there. I walked down the stairs to the stage. I just stared at the stage thinking. My friends that went with me, kept asking me if I was okay. I just said “yeah,” and stared at the stage.
I couldn’t believe that I was really there. It was like I was in an awesome dream. After waiting for 45 minutes, just staring at the stage waiting for my favorite band to play, it started.
As the opening act finished up, my heart started to race. I couldn’t wait to see Maroon 5. As the first song started, I just had a flash back of all the times I had heard that song, and then it hit me: I WAS AT MAROON 5! I raised my hands in the air and screamed like a little 16 year old girl, and the concert never sounded better. The lights flashed and they flickered, as the band sang on.
The more they played the more the crowd went wild.
The concert was great. The main singer, Adam Levine, was awesome to have on stage. He really connected with the crowd by talking to them and giving away free stuff. He even sang to a girl on stage.
The band sang some of their songs acoustically, which is always great for me as a listener. It was perfect to see them up close and have them right there. The music was just one of the great things the band did; they even had a really awesome light show during the concert.
As the last song ended, I just stood there for a minute, looked at my friends and said, “That was so AWESOME!”
This had to be one of the greatest experience of my life. I was in the presence of something huge.
I cannot wait to see Maroon 5 again, or actually any concert.
