D’Youville College
The college is collecting monetary donations around campus, and is teaming up with Catholic Relief, Doctors Without Boarders, and the Red Cross.

Campus Ministry is holding a February Luncheon for the “What Matters to Me Most” Series specifically on What Matters to Me Most in a Time of Tragedy.

D’Youville college clubs are working on fund-raising efforts as well.

Medaille College
The college’s Center for Multicultural Education & Diversity (CMED) and The Multicultural Association are encouraging members of the community to text for Haiti or leave change in containers in the residence Halls.

The campus’ TRIO program, spearheaded by the TRIO Peer Mentors, is interested in raising funds to help the people of Haiti. They plan to make ribbons to wear representing the colors of the Haitian flag and selling them for $1 each.

The college is looking into selling the ribbons throughout the week of February 8th and have put in requests to have a table set up in the campus’ Sullivan Center a few days during that week.

Buffalo State College
Buffalo State College held a forum on January 27 to discuss what they as a college community could do for Haiti Relief.

A panel of student representatives, faculty and staff sat down to discuss and plan the campus’ events.

Such events include a Bingo Night, Poster Sale, Haitian Dance classes, and stations to cut out Hearts for Haiti.

Canisius College
Canisius College is accepting monetary donations as well as donating the money collected through Campus Ministry during campus masses.

University at Buffalo
The University is taking monetary donations across their campus. A program titled “Round Up for Haiti” allows customers at the campus’ dining hall to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar. The difference between the actual price and round up goes to benefit the American Red Cross Haiti Relief and Development Fund.

The campus’ Tim Hortons is also collecting monetary donations to benefit the Haiti Relief through Unicef.

UB professors are also lending their expertise along with UB’s MCEER researchers and PhD students who will travel to Haiti to provide assistance and assessment of infrastructure.
