As students may or may not have noticed, there is a little change in Medaille’s snack shop. It’s a new face on the staff.
Therese Stevens, a native of Staten Island, NY, is a vibrant addition to Medaille. She lived between Staten Island and Brooklyn until 2000 when she decided to attend college in Atlanta, GA.
She majored in business management, and now currently has an associate’s degree. When talking about the difference between Buffalo, NY and Atlanta, GA Stevens said, “The diversity! There is so much more people there than there is here, and there are more things to do in Atlanta.”
Stevens also said, “It [moving to Buffalo] was my first time meeting new people so it made things even more exciting.”
Since graduating from college she has been living in Buffalo for the past nine years with her two sons.
Coming to Medaille she says, “Students have been very friendly and pleasant.”
She is eager to get to know the students more, and in trying to improve the snack shop as best as she can.
Stevens has a fiery and friendly personality and is willing to hear anyone’s suggestions or concerns about the snack shop.
She is attempting to get more variety for the students as well as trying to make sure there is much available to the students.
However, she is not afraid to be honest with the students. Steven’s said, “I will tell you the truth.”
Don’t let that deter you though. The next time you’re in the snack shop don’t be afraid to say hi or give a suggestion. She will be willing to listen to any concerns students have.
