The women’s bowling team had to cope with the loss of three of last year’s five starters, but they still had the talent of seven returning bowlers.
The team also added three more ladies in order to add more talent to the team. There are three seniors on the 2009-2010 season that will end up leaving big shoes to be filled for next year. The undergraduates are not by any means slacking but working very hard in order to improve their personal game and to learn from the seniors.
The women have several tournaments to look forward to as their season is drawing to an end. They compete against teams that are from all over the United States.
This provides different styles in which the women can pick up new tips and apply them to their game.
The women have not left a tournament with a win as previous years. They do have bowlers who have placed in the top ten individuals for several tournaments.
Placing in the top is not an easy task for them but is a great honor. “Our ultimate goal is to make sectionals as a team, as well as send several members to compete individually,” said Laura Mauger.
The women will have to work hard, assist each other and support each other as a team in order to complete this goal. It looks like so far this season that the women have accomplished this and we wish them good luck during the rest of their season!
